Today, I decided to learn an editing software called Davinci Resolve. I have had the opportunity in the past when editing my acting reels. However, I have never tried to learn the fundamentals of the software itself.
I followed the step-by-step process by Kevin Stratvert on his YouTube channel. 'DaVinci Resolve 18 - Full Tutorial for Beginners'.
In this tutorial, I collated the resources given to follow along. It included videos and a soundtrack.
I created a project using the resources to make a short video advertising a fictional cookie brand. How to import media; utilising the timeline on the software. How specific tools within the tutorial work. Build a story with the video footage so that the content presented flows.
I learned to add fade-ins and outs and apply effects, transitions even music to make it more interesting.
Overall, I am excited to learn more and use DaVinci Resolve to edit more videos in the future. I wish to add to my skillset in this form to make creative content and practice continually.
